Infant Program

Infant Care Program (6 weeks to 16 months)
The staff at Arena will provide your infant a nurturing, safe, loving, and caring environment, so your infant will
be able to grow and explore all areas of development such as language and cognitive development, social and emotional, gross
and fine motor skills. The care is more specialized to your infant’s needs.
Social
and Emotional Goals for our Infants
- To begin the process of becoming
independent
- Feed him/herself
- To begin pursuing curiosities
- Creating an environment for
self discovery
- To feel secure with him/herself
- The child no longer uses
a bottle
- The child does not need a
pacifier during awake hours
- To begin playing with others
- Having group activities that
are teacher directed/self directed
Cognitive Goals
- To begin to express themselves
through verbal and non verbal communication
1. Child will communicate
wishes verbally/non verbally
2. Child cab understand
and carry out a simple direction
- To begin to coordinate fine
and gross muscle skills
1. Teacher assisted
walking
2. Teacher moving
different body parts on infants – smaller infants etc.
3. Through various
activities infants will use their gross and fine motor skills through teacher assisted activities or self directed activities.
